Keys, locks and locks

Set of keys

The set of keys which is given out upon purchase of the new car is packed into a plastic cover, with the number code put down on it. If you receive keys without such packing, ask the representative of dealer office where the car is acquired to tell you a number code of keys.

Two keys enter into a set - main and office. Blocking of a steering column

If the steering wheel turns no more than on a half of turn in each of the directions, and the key is taken from the ignition lock, therefore the steering column is blocked.

To make wheel blocking, turn it the top party down, muffle the engine and take a key from the ignition lock. Now slightly pull a steering wheel, rotating it in both directions for blokirator input in gearing.

Shutdown of a blokirator is made by small turn of a key in the ignition lock in any of the parties.

If blocking of a wheel was made by a way of its turn to the right/to the left, and for its shutdown the steering wheel should be turned in the same direction.

Locks of doors

The main key except the lock of ignition approaches also to all doors of the car, including a back door.

To unlock or lock a door, enter a key into a well of the cylinder of its lock.

After unlocking of the lock of a door of a back it can repeatedly open and be locked without key application. To open a back door, pull on itself its handle.

These blokirator without fail should be used in transit children. For activation of a blokirator lower down a rychazhok located over a latch of the lock at a back end face of a door. Switching off of a blokirator is made by switching a rychazhka in the top situation.

In case of failure do not forget that at the included blokirator back doors of the car can be open only outside - take care of that back passengers could get out during time of the car!

Switches of management of activators of door locks

Management of activators of locks of all doors (including a back door) is made by means of the switches of keyboard type located on armrests driver's and forward passenger doors. For locking of locks press the right half of a key of the lock, for unlocking - on left.

Blocking of doors by means of switches or a remote control (DU) is not represented possible in the following cases:

  • The driver's door is open, and the key is not taken from the ignition lock.
  • The driver's door is open, and head headlights are not extinguished.

After blocking inclusion opening of back doors from within salon becomes possible only after an otpuskaniye of rychazhok of blokirator. Forward doors can be opened by means of internal handles.

Remote control by door activators of the uniform lock

The intake of the uniform lock is located in assembly of a lamp of illumination of salon, or in the central part of the top console. Having come nearer to the car on sufficient distance (about 3 m), direct the DU panel on the receiver and press, depending on an objective on the LOCK button (Locking) or UNLOCK (Unlocking) on its obverse panel.

At the moment of DU panel use on its obverse panel the control lamp confirming sufficiency of level of a charge of its batteries should light up.  PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unlock a driver's door and leave it open on all the time of performance of programming of panels.
  2. Transfer a rychazhok of a mechanical drive of a blokirator of the lock to the situation LOCK.
  3. Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in the situation RUN/ON (see an illustration).
  4. Within the next 20 seconds direct on the receiver the DU panel subject to programming and press the LOCK button on its obverse panel. Hold the button pressed not less than 5 seconds during which the electronic module of an intake will be adjusted on an alarm code of this panel and will confirm a successful conclusion of control with a way of operation of activators and unlockings of door locks.
  5. On termination of programming of the first panel, it is possible to prepare the receiver for reception of signals from additional (total number to 4). Within 20 seconds after completion of programming of the first panel transfer a rychazhok of a mechanical drive of a driver's door to the situation LOCK and repeat the described procedure for the following panel.
  6. To keep the entered codes in memory of the receiver, it is necessary within 20 seconds after completion of programming of the last panel to switch off and again to include ignition. During this moment all earlier written down codes will be replaced with the new.

At the moment of unlocking of door locks by activators of the uniform lock from the DU panel, and also when opening doors illumination of salon automatically joins. These lamps remain included during about 30 seconds, or till ignition inclusion (key turn in the situation ON - see an illustration).

Anticreeping alarm system

Sensitive sensors supervise a condition of doors (including a back door), a cowl, folding glass and in case of identification of signs of unauthorized penetration into the car provide inclusion of sound and visual alarm signals. Within the first 3 minutes the horn will publish buzz, and then head headlights and back marker lights will continue to blink within 15 minutes. The lamp will stop to blink about 15 seconds later, confirming a successful conclusion of installation of the alarm system. If a lamp during this period of time it is necessary to burn continuously, whether check densely the cowl is closed.

If at the moment of unlocking of doors by a key or on a signal from the DU panel the horn publishes triple buzz, it means that in your absence the system of the anticreeping alarm system worked. Check, whether there are no signs of penetration into the car of extraneous persons.

The system of the anticreeping alarm system is conceived as vehicle means of protection. Nevertheless there are situations in which there is its failure. If, remaining in the car, you will casually make locking of doors by the keyboard switch or from the DU panel, the anticreeping alarm system will work in attempt of opening of a door from within for the handle. Involuntary shutdown of system occurs when unlocking by a key of a door of a back. After the door will be closed repeated initiation of the alarm system will not occur.

Activation of the anticreeping alarm system occurs at the moment of battery connection after completion of service or car repairs. Thus all external lighting devices turn on in a blinking mode, and ignition is blocked. Shutdown of system is made by key turn in the lock of any of doors, or at operation of activators of the uniform lock from the DU panel.

Systems of safety and restriction of movings of the driver and passengers

Safety of the persons which were in the car is one of the most important and responsible tasks of designers and developers. From the knots, urged to carry out this task seat belts of the driver, forward and back passengers, and also a safety cushion of the driver are main. Standard seat belts can be also used for fixing of special adaptations for transportation of babies and children of younger teenage age.

Seat belts

General information

Belts of universal type

Safety cushion

General information

Existence in the car of a safety cushion does not release the driver from need to use a seat belt. Excessively close stay to the helmsman of wheels during inclusion of a pillow is fraught with receiving traumas!

For effective operation of a pillow between a steering wheel and the driver there should be a sufficient free space. Sit down directly, conveniently put hands on a wheel, be fastened by a seat belt.

Cars of considered brand are equipped with a safety cushion of the driver. The block is built in in a nave of a steering wheel and in case of strong front blow provides instant with filling by gas of the pillow made of a dense material. Together with a seat belt and knee protection the pillow provides reliable protection of the driver at a head-on collision of the car.

Functioning principle

Blow sensors

Sensors are located in a forward part of the car, and also in its salon and provide operation of the module of activation of a pillow when acceleration of face-to-face blow reaches a certain value. Sensors should not react on sliding, lateral and back blows, and also to a car perevorachivaniye. Inside sensors are equipped with the switches connected to the block of self-diagnostics of system and the module of activation of a pillow.

Activation/safety cushion module

The module is located in the central part of a steering wheel. When the acceleration arising at a head-on collision reaches sufficient value, sensors of blow give out a signal on module operations. Thus the gas generator of the module provides emission of a large amount of the nontoxical nitrogen, providing an instant naduvaniye of the pillow made of a strong material. The decorative cover in the central part of a steering wheel leans back and the pillow is developed, filling space between a wheel and a body of the driver. All process lasts about 50 milliseconds that corresponds to about a half of time spent by the person for blinking by eyelids. Consequences of operation of a safety cushion

Once the worked safety cushion will not provide protection to the driver at repeated collision! The module should be replaced at the first possibility in dealer office of the Chrysler company.

  • Contact to nylon of a pillow of open sites of skin can lead to receiving the grazes similar on character, left on hands at the burns got at a friction about a kapron rope or as a result of sliding falling on a carpet in a gym. They do not speak at all contact to chemically hostile environment! Nevertheless it is not necessary to neglect medical assistance.
  • During production of nitrogen formation of the easy smoke actually representing the smallest particles of nontoxical by-products of a gazogeneratsiya is not excluded from a safety cushion. Contact of these particles to mucous membranes of a human body can cause the insignificant irritation which is easily removed at washing by pure cool water.   • The control lamp of a safety cushion does not light up on 6 ÷ 8 seconds at initial inclusion of ignition, or at once enters into a blinking mode.

  • The lamp joins on constantly, or in a blinking mode during car movement.

At refusal of a speedometer, a tachometer and measuring instruments of working parameters of the engine the module of activation of a safety cushion also fails. In such situation it is necessary to try to replace a safety lock No. 22 in the assembly block.

Adjustment of provision of seats

Performance of adjustment of provision of a driver's seat during movement of the car dangerously! At a sharp push it is easy to run away, besides it can easily appear correctness of laying of a seat belt is broken. Make adjustment of provision of a seat before a start of motion.

Adjustment of height of provision of head restraints

Head restraints provide reliable protection of cervical department of a backbone in case of blow in the car behind. The head restraint is usually established in extreme top situation.

Forward seats with the electric drive on six degrees of freedom (an additional complete set)

Folding back seat of separate type

Both lateral backs of a back seat develop that allows to expand essentially in case of need volume of a luggage compartment.

For simplification of procedure of folding of backs of a back seat, shift forward seats forward against the stop, and their backs transfer to vertical situation. The description of procedure of folding of a back seat below is provided.

Each of pillows of a back seat is equipped fixed in its back part special pedely, having pulled for which, the pillow can be lifted, having pressed to a back of a forward seat.

The pillow nestles closely on a back of a forward seat (on an insert location of a loop is shown).

For additional expansion of volume of a luggage compartment of a pillow of a back seat can be taken. Turn a pillow a floor a corner 45 °. If now to pull a pillow up, its arms will be liberated from the clamps and the pillow can be removed. Installation is made upside-down.

For removal of head restraints from backs of a back seat turn clockwise special blocking couplings. Now, to take a head restraint, it will pull vertically up from directing nests enough.

Head restraints of back seats are equipped with blocking couplings.

After extraction head restraints can be fixed in the special nests provided in combined pillows - nests are also equipped with the blocking couplings, head restraints reliably fixing probes.

Find from below from the outer side of the corresponding back of a seat a special control lever, delay the lever back and combine a back forward.

The design of power supply systems and engine management provides good profitability of fuel consumption in case of car filling by high-quality unleaded fuel.

Use for car filling only gasoline with octane number not below 87, determined by a method of calculation of arithmetic-mean value between the sizes defined research and motor ways: N= (R +М)/2, or, in Russian designations: N= (AI +А)/2.

Periodic emergence of an easy detonation in the engine at work it on low turns should not cause special concern. In case of a strong detonation on high turns it is necessary to address in dealer office of the Chrysler company.

Engine damages owing to a strong detonation do not get on protection of guarantee certificates.

Besides, that gasoline should be unleaded and have octane number not below the stipulated value, it is recommended to use the fuel containing such additives, as inhibitor of corrosion and means for increase of stability of turns of the engine. Use of low-grade fuel can lead to emergence of such problems, as the complicated start of the engine, spontaneous it остановы and violation of stability of turns. In case of appearance of any of the listed symptoms, try to replace fuel brand before there will be more serious problems.

Some grades of fuel represent a combination of the unleaded gasoline mixed with such kislorodsoderzhashchy additives, as alcohol and methyl-tetrabutilovy (MTVE) and etil-tetrabutilovy (ETVE) air. Thus the importance has type and quantity of the oxidizer added to fuel. For filling of cars considered in this Management the following combinations are admissible:

  • Mixed with MTVE in the ratio not above 15/85 unleaded gasoline.
  • 17/83 (not above) ETVE mix with unleaded the combustible.
  • The mix containing 10 % an additive to gasoline of ethyl (drinking) alcohol.

Added to unleaded gasoline of methyl alcohol can vary from 3 % and above.

Use of the fuel containing methyl alcohol on cars of considered brand is inadmissible and can bring to difficulties at start of the engine and to failure of sensitive components of a power supply system!


The problems connected with use of fuel with additives of methyl alcohol do not get to the list of the refusals listed in guarantee certificates of the Chrysler company.

Control systems of the engine

General information

In order to avoid violation of serviceability of functioning of a power supply system try to observe the following rules:

  • Do not use for car filling having the raised content of lead etilirovanny gasoline. Violation of this requirement is fraught with decrease in efficiency of return of the engine, failure of components of systems of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases, and also violation of guarantee certificates of the Chrysler company.

  • Try not to inhale fulfilled gases of the engine - they contain extremely toxic monooxide of carbon (WITH), capable to bring to a serious poisoning of an organism. Do not allow long operation of the engine in the closed rooms. Suppress the engine during long parking. During short parking with working engine include on full capacity system of ventilation of salon.
  • Decrease in the content in the fulfilled WITH gases is promoted by a regularity of performance of procedures of routine maintenance of the car (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance). Through demanded intervals of a time/distance in kilometers lift the car over the earth and check a condition of components of system of production of the fulfilled gases. During time eliminate the revealed defects. At car operation with the damaged components of system of production of the fulfilled gases open all lateral windows and include on full capacity salon ventilation.
  • Before a start of motion check density of closing of a door of a back and its folding glass (at the corresponding complete set of the car).

Catalytic converter

Violation of service conditions of the engine can lead to failure of the expensive catalytic converter. In case of any disturbing symptoms, in particular such as admissions of ignition or decrease in efficiency of return of the engine it is necessary to make diagnostics and car service immediately. Further its operation can lead to failure of the catalytic converter!

The cars equipped with the catalytic converter are subject to filling by only unleaded fuel. The high content of lead in etilirovanny fuel is capable to lead to appreciable decrease in efficiency of the converter and its fast exit out of operation. Under usual service conditions of the car the catalytic converter does not need regular service. Nevertheless it is necessary to pay attention to observance of the correct settings of the engine.

Do not park the car over easily flammable subjects, on the sites overgrown with a dry grass or filled-up fallen leaves.

At long operation of not adjusted engine there can be the characteristic pungent smell which is usually accompanying process of curing of rubber.
