General information

The transfer case represents the device serving for transfer of rotation of the engine to forward and back driveshafts. Models of make of the car described in this Management are equipped with a transfer case of one of listed below the types made by New Process firm:

  • NР231 represents a transfer case of partial nepolnovremenny type with a lowering reducer (Sleck-trac).
  • NР242 is a full box of nepolnovremenny type with four modes of functioning (Command-trec). The box provides car movement in a mode as with 2WD, and 4WD and is equipped with the mechanism of blocking of differentials at movement in an all-wheel drive mode on lowering and raising transfers. The lowering reducer provides increase in capacity at low turns of rotation.
  • NР249 represents constantly included transfer case with two modes of functioning and possibility of transfer to neutral situation (Quadra-trac). Modes provided by a box include a mode 4Н and 4L (4L it is intended for development of high traction effort at towage of the heavy trailer in cross-country conditions). Rotation of the engine is distributed between forward and back car bridges through differential and the vyazkostny coupling, a part of a transfer case. NР249 is also equipped with a lowering reducer for capacity increase at slow movement on off road terrain.
