Safety cushion - the general information These cars are equipped with auxiliary restrictive system (SRS), is more often a called safety cushion. The design of system allows to prevent receiving by the driver of serious traumas in case of front blow of the car. The system consists of the module of a safety cushion located in the central part of a steering wheel, two sensors of blow fixed in a forward part of the car and the module of management, the blow also including the sensor located in salon of the car. The module of a pillow consists of the air bag (pillow) placed in a casing and its device надува. The electric signal from sensors of blow is sent on the safety sensor in the module of management which finally closes a chain, providing having inflated pillows. Module of management (ASDM) ASDM consists of the safety sensor and the onboard microprocessor which is carrying out control of functioning of system. Control is carried out at each start of the engine, providing inclusion of an alarm lamp AIRBAG (safety cushion) for short time (that speaks about serviceability of system). If in system there are malfunctions, the lamp remains included and the module of management of system of safety (ASDM) fixes the corresponding code in the memory. If the alarm lamp does not die away after engine start, the car immediately should be driven away for carrying out diagnostics of system in dealer office of the Chrysler company. System shutdown At carrying out any works in vicinities of a steering wheel, a column or near other components of SRS system, it (system) should be temporarily deduced from a ready state.
