General information

In order to avoid failure of a transfer case at all do not use for towage the equipment, capable to prevent rotation of wheels.

Towage all-wheel drive without 4WD mode shutdown in order to avoid failure of a transfer case of models should be made on a loader.

4WD models with possibility of shutdown of the forward bridge can be towed with only forward wheels lifted over the earth. Track, that the transfer case was established in neutral situation, AT - in situation P, RKPP - on transfer.

In order to avoid an oil effluence from a transfer case do not disconnect the back driveshaft.

Models with a transfer case of COMMAND-TRAC

In the presence of the ignition key

РКПП

Turn the ignition key in the situation OFF to unblock a steering column. Include transmission on transfer, a transfer case transfer to a neutral.

АТ

Unblock a steering column and the gear shifting mechanism, having turned the ignition key in the situation OFF. Transfer AT to situation P, a transfer case establish on a neutral.

In the absence of available ignition key, but open car

РКПП

Include transmission on transfer, a transfer case transfer to a neutral.

АТ

Transfer AT to situation P, a transfer case establish on a neutral.

In the absence of available ignition key and the closed RKPP and AT car

Make towage with the forward wheels raised over the earth.

Models with a transfer case of SELEC-TRAC/QUADRA-TRAC

In the presence of the ignition key

Turn the ignition key in the situation OFF to unblock a steering column and the gear shifting mechanism. Transfer AT to situation P, a transfer case establish on a neutral.

In the absence of available ignition key, but open car

Make sure that transmission is in situation P, switch a transfer case to a neutral.

In the absence of available ignition key and the closed car

Make towage with the forward wheels raised over the earth.

Car towage in the absence of possibility of transfer of a transfer case in neutral situation

Turn the ignition key in the situation OFF.

Transmission transfer to neutral situation.

Towage make with the forward wheels torn off from the earth.

If it is necessary to tow the car with the back wheels torn off from the earth, surely unblock a steering column (the blokirator is not capable to sustain pushes occurring during towage). Then fix a steering wheel by means of strong clips specially developed for this purpose.

2WD models

Towage should be made with the transmission established in neutral situation and with speeds of not exceeding 50 km/h (30 miles/h). The maximum range of towage should not exceed 25 km (15 miles), otherwise it is necessary to use a trailer, or to tow the car with the forward wheels torn off from the earth.
