Hoses should be checked regularly on existence of cracks, signs of weakening of collars, hardenings of a material and traces of leaks. Some, but not everything, hoses fasten on unions by means of collars. There where collars are applied, check reliability of their tightening on which the prevention of emergence of leaks depends. If collars are not used, track, that the hose did not appear expanded and/or hardened on the site put on the union that usually is at the bottom of leak emergence. Vacuum hoses For identification of the vacuum hoses which are especially applied in systems of decrease in toxicity of fulfilled gases use of a color code or introduction in their walls of color strips is characteristic. Various systems demand application of vacuum hoses of various thickness of walls on which resilience to a skhlopyvaniye under the influence of internal depression and to influence of the increased temperatures depends. At replacement of vacuum hoses watch compliance of a material and a design new removed from the engine. Often, in the only effective way of check of a condition of a vacuum hose there is its complete removal from the car. Checking a condition of vacuum hoses do not forget as well about plastic tees. Check them on existence of cracks and deformations of sites on which the hose stretches, capable to cause depression loss as a result of violation of tightness of a joint. For identification of "leakages" of vacuum use a stethoscope, or - as that - a piece of a vacuum or fuel hose (internal diameter about 6 mm). Hear by means of a stethoscope to hoses (on all length) and their shtutserny connections on existence of the hissing being a characteristic sign of "leak".
Fuel hoses
Check rubber fuel lines on existence of signs of wiping or material aging. Especially check hoses on existence of cracks in places of a bend and on sites directly ahead of unions (such as on the fuel filter). High-quality fuel lines are usually marked by an inscription of Fluroelastomer printed directly on a wall of a hose and should be applied to work of replacements. Do not try to establish at all instead of fuel lines not possessing demanded durability vacuum or water hoses, or transparent plastic tubes. For fixing of fuel lines on unions collars of spring type are usually used. Such collars often lose the durability eventually, and at removal tend to an unexpected soskakivaniye. It will be reasonable to replace during replacement of hoses such collars with more reliable of screw (worm) type. Metal lines In a power supply system metal lines are often applied. Carefully check them on existence of excesses, deformations and signs of formation of cracks. If the section of the metal line is subject to replacement, it is necessary to use for its performance only the steel tubes made on seamless technology as the copper and aluminum do not provide demanded durability for keeping taking place at normal operation of the engine of vibrating loadings. Check metal brake lines in places of connection them to the main cylinder and the block of alignment of pressure (if that is provided) on existence of cracks or signs of weakening of shtutserny connections. Detection of any signs of leaks in brake lines demands immediate careful check of all brake system. |
