Replacement of a back epiploon of the crankshaft
- Remove the case pallet (The section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case).
- Uncover the back radical bearing and take from it an epiploon half, having hooked it a small screw-driver.
- Carefully fill one party of the second (top) half of a radical epiploon in the flute by means of a small brass drift and a hammer. Thus its second end should be put out over a block surface so that it became possible to grasp it flat-nose pliers. Observe extreme care, trying not to allow damages of a pin of a cranked shaft.
- Fill in a flute in the block one of the ends of the top half of a back radical epiploon...

... so that its second end was put forward from the block so that there was a possibility to grasp it nippers.
- Carefully smooth out surfaces of a cover of the radical bearing and a back part of a block/case of the engine, having removed from them all traces of oil and old hermetic.
- Grease sponges of the top half of a new epiploon with pure impellent oil, and its external surface - liquid soap.
Installation of a back epiploon of the crankshaft.
- Insert an epiploon into a flute in the block sponges forward.
- Grease both end faces of the bottom half of an epiploon with RTV hermetic and moisten an external surface with liquid soap (see an illustration above). Do not allow hermetic and soap hit on epiploon sponges. Fill an epiploon in a cover of the radical bearing and grease its sponges with impellent oil.
Do not put at this stage hermetic on interfaced surfaces of the block and a cover of the radical bearing. It is made after measurement of gaps in bearings of a cranked shaft. |
- Grease edges with the removed facets of a cover of the back radical bearing hermetic for fixing of carving connections (Locktite 518 or its equivalent). Also establish a cover into place. Tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort.
- Put a small amount of hermetic for fixing of carving connections on the areas of a surface of a cover of the back radical bearing shaded on drawings before its installation on the engine.
- Installation of the remained components make as it should be, the return to an order of their removal.
- Fill in in the engine demanded amount of impellent oil (Head of Control and routine maintenance), start the engine and check it on leakages of oil.
