Replacement of a back radical epiploon

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the case pallet (The section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case).
  2. Remove the oil pump (The section Removal, check of a condition and installation of the oil pump).
  3. Give bolts and disconnect a cover of the back radical bearing from the engine.
  1. Give two bolts (arrow) and uncover the back radical bearing.
  1. Take out the bottom half of an epiploon of a bearing or holder cover.
  2. Weaken bolts of covers of the second and third radical bearings.
  3. By means of a small brass drift carefully fill one of end faces of the top half of an epiploon in its flute in the block so that its second end left the block so that there was a possibility to grasp it flat-nose pliers. Smooth out interfaced surfaces of the block and a bearing cover, having removed all traces of hermetic and having degreased them.
  4. Slightly grease sponges of both halves of a new epiploon (it is made of a neoprene) with pure impellent oil.

Before epiploon installation surely absolutely wipe a surface of a pin of a cranked shaft, then slightly oil it.

  1. Fill a half of a new epiploon in a flute in the block, sponges forward on the engine (the party of an epiploon turned back on the engine is usually marked with yellow or white paint).

Filling an epiploon in a flute, densely press its external surface a thumb is will prevent cutting of an external forming surface of an epiploon by a keen edge of a flute in the block. If the epiploon is cut off, it will lead to formation of leakages of oil.

  1. Insert the second half of an epiploon into a cover of the radical bearing (again pay attention to the party of an epiploon marked with paint which should appear turned back on the engine.
  2. Impose Locktite 515 hermetic spots (or its equivalent) diameter about 5 mm on an interfaced surface of a cover of the radical bearing from both parties in the points specified on an accompanying illustration.
  1. Impose in the specified points of an interfaced surface of a cover of the radical bearing of a spot of Locktite 515 hermetic or its equivalent, and on a block joint with a cover after installation of the last miss the mark with RTV hermetic.
  1. Establish a cover of the back radical bearing, having smoothed out, having greased and having tightened with demanded effort bolts of its fastening. Bolts of covers of other radical bearings also tighten with demanded effort. A joint of covers with the block miss the mark with RTV hermetic (see an illustration above).
  2. Establish on the places the oil pump and the case pallet.
  3. Further installation make as it should be, the return to a removal order. Fill the pallet with oil, start the engine and check it on leaks.
