Ignition system - the general information

Applied on these cars of transistor type the electronic system is capable to develop much stronger currents, than ignitions of usual type made by systems. At service of system observe special precautionary measures.

All models are equipped with the computerized system of ignition into which structure enter the ignition coil, sensors of provision of distributive and cranked shaft and the Module of management (RSM). RSM carries out control of moment installation (an advancing corner) ignitions, spark and advancing characteristics. Installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition is not subject to adjustment and change of position of the distributor to its change does not conduct.

On engines in volume of 4.0 l position of the distributor is fixed unequivocally at the expense of a directing groove on its case. Clamping the bolt of fastening of the distributor at the correct installation passes through this groove. On models in volume of 5.2 l the fixing collar clamped by a bolt allows to rotate freely the distributor, however it does not conduct to change of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition. Do not try to modify a corner of an advancing of ignition, rotating the distributor.

The distributor drive (its conducted gear wheel), including a begunok, is carried out from a camshaft. The sensor of provision of a camshaft is located in the distributor and carries out transfer on the processor of the signals which are responsible for synchronization of supply of fuel in cylinders.

Earlier the sensor of provision of a camshaft was mentioned in lists of spare parts of dealer offices of Chrysler firm as plate assembly. Some models are equipped with the independent sensor of a camshaft which easily acts in film from the distributor without extraction of last of the car. On other models sensors of a camshaft of the dependent type, demanding removals of the distributor are established.

The computerized system of ignition provides complete control of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition by determination of optimum current value on the basis of the analysis of information received by the microprocessor from sensors of speed of movement of the car (VSS), temperature of a cooler, the provision of a butterfly valve (TPS) and absolute pressure in the pipeline (MAR). The corner of an advancing of ignition changes during an engine warming up, at its work on single turns and normal functioning of the warmed-up engine. Management of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition carries out the module of management (RSM). The structure of such electronic system of ignition includes also the ignition lock, the battery, the coil, the distributor, spark plugs and candle wires.
